Tubing Hill

Curtis had a blast on the big tubing hill we went on off of I-84.

This big tube would take him clear to the road after going all the way down the huge, long hill we had to climb up every time.

Andrew had fun for awhile until he got snow in his gloves and his fingers got freezing cold. Then he wasn't so happy so he came back to the truck to warm up.

Hannah had one trip down the hill with mom (screaming & crying all the way) because she didn't think it would be fun. I think she actually had a fun time, but then she went down with dad and near the end they hit a big hole which stopped them suddenly and they went off the tube face flat in the snow with Brian on top of Hannah. That was not so much fun and Hannah pretty much got a face full of snow. She was really crying after this and was definitely done. So we brought her back to the truck to warm up and she had fun sitting in the truck and drinking hot chocolate. It may take her a little while to forget that before she is willing to try again (like maybe a year!!)

Mom & Hannah after she warmed up....she will go in the snow and play, just not on a snowtube again and especially with dad!! She thinks it is all his fault!! Can you blame her??

Twin Power....Activate!!

Yes, I love being a twin and dressing up as twins. I know our husbands think it is funny that we like to dress the same (especally Kevin) and hopes we don't show up in the same thing when we get together or go out somewhere. But we love it and of course last year we had to buy the same ski coat. So when the Olivers come to town and we go out playing in the snow.....this is what you're going to get!! The kids had a blast on the biggest snow hill they've ever been on (its up I-84 and at the rest stop heading westbound after the Peterson exit). It's a great place to go because you can park close to where you will be tubing instead of walking a long ways after you park, there are restrooms there and it is a long, long hill. It was very cold that day so we didn't get to stay too long, but it was fun. The Dicous also went with us and Jen got some great action shots of the kids going down the hill so hopefully she will post those on her blog.....

Magical Moments of Christmas

The annual Talbot Christmas was on December 24th and the kids(grandkids) got to reenact the First Christmas Story. I think they are finally getting old enough to understand the story and realize the importance of it. It was so neat seeing all the kids get excited to dress up as their character that they were going to play and to act out the story of the birth of Christ. We actually had a "baby Jesus" this year and wisemen, shepherds, an angel, of course Mary & Joseph and even Samuel the Lamanite. It was quite a night to remember!!

Christmas morning at the Talbot home....don't we look great in our new Christmas PJ's??

Curtis, Hannah & Drew on Christmas morning. They were so excited about what they got that it was hard to make them stop long enough for a few pics together. I love watching the magic of Christmas unfold on Christmas morning as they get so excited about what they give to each other and about the things they get.

Thanksgiving in California

We had so much fun spending Thanksgiving with the Olivers in California this year. It was really different having warm weather for Thanksgiving. We spent part of the day on an adventure for crawdads.....not that we caught any, but we sure had fun trying. We had a delicious dinner of Turkey, mashed potatoes, stuffing and all the other yummy fixins' (sorry no crawdads for dinner) . Curtis, Drew, and Hannah had so much fun catching up with their cousins and playing nonstop with them for the 6 days that we were there. And of course I had the time of my life with my best friend and shopping buddy that I missed so much. Cats & I did have lots of fun shopping and catching up on all the shopping we had been missing together. But Black Friday in Brentwood California at the Walmart was very different then the Walmart in Clinton Utah. I felt like I was in the gang district of California and was afraid that if I looked at someone the wrong way, I might get shot.....very scary. Target was much more normal and fun!! Thank heavens for Target!!

The day after Thanksgiving we drove to Golden Gate Vista Point that overlooked the Golden Gate Bridge and the San Francisco Bay area. We took family pictures and hiked around. It was beautiful!!

We just had our fall scrap retreat in Park City and I spent 3 wonderful days with my best friends. We all have our differences, and we have our similarities, but we are friends no matter what. You guys make me so happy when I'm around you. We had so much fun eating, laughing, watching movies, and even crying. I love you guys!!

Halloween Night

Scary guy, Chandler, Curtis (front) Hannah, Sarah, Andrew

Halloween was great this year--the weather was warm and you all looked cute and the costumes were easy this year. Halloween costumes always stress me out, but this year I got things done early and thanks to Cats, Hannah has cute costumes for the next few years.... I'm not sure who the ugly scary guy in the back is, but he sure added a lot of fun to the night (ha ha---its Brian)

October Snow????

My kids woke us up this morning yelling about it snowing outside!! I knew it was supposed to snow, but are you kidding me?? This is unbelievable!! I think we have 5-6 inches or more and it has kept snowing all day. It is only Oct 12th and we are getting 1/2 foot of snow. I personally think it is kind of depressing, but my kids think it is great!! Hopefully it will be gone soon and we can go back to a wonderful fall and then slooowwwlllyyyy go into winter. I'm not ready for the cold quite yet.

Cornbelly's Corn Maze @ Thanksgiving Point

We went to the Corn Maze at Thanksgiving Point and the kids had tons of fun on all the toys and activities, but not in the corn maze. We started the corn maze and then the kids were getting hungry and so we didn't finish. We went back out the way we came---ha, ha so much for that. Maybe we'll try it again when the kids are older and can get thru it.

Here Comes the Tooth Fairy!!

Andrew lost his first tooth today. It was so loose that it would sit at a 90 degree angle to the rest of his teeth when he would push it with his tongue and it would just stay there. It looked pretty freaky!! It was hanging on by just a tiny piece of skin or something. He didn't want me to pull it because he thought it would hurt too much. I finally talked him into me taking a look and I grabbed it and pulled it out. It didn't hurt at all and I think he was surprised that it was out......so here comes the tooth fairy!!!

Hannah's First Day of Preschool!!

Today was Hannah's first day at Kiddie Kollege Preschool. She was so excited to
be going to school like her brothers. The only thing she was upset about was wearing the yellow
flower instead of the pink one. When we got to school, she went immediately to the swings---her favorite playground toy. She finally let me take a picture of her by the Green door (where she will go in each day). When it got time to line up, she started clinging to me and then started to cry. I felt so bad...I know they say that a quick good-bye is the best, but I wanted to stay with her. Her teacher finally came to get her and she was still crying. I was hoping that when I picked her up, she would be happy and talking all about her first day...but she was still sad. I guess it will take some time to adjust to this new adventure, for mom and Hannah. I almost felt lost without her, even though it was just a little over an hour today. I will have to get used to some free time without my Hannah by my side. She is growing up way too fast.....

Jackson Hole----Day 2

The second day in Jackson Hole, we went up to Teton National Park and hiked up by Jenny Lake and then on to Hidden Falls. It was so beautiful up there and the kids did great hiking the 3 miles. This picture is on the shore of Jenny's Lake on the way up to Hidden Falls.

The kids on the trail.

Hidden Falls---we made it!!!

This is in front of the cabins we stayed in. The kids loved playing outside with all the dogs that were there and playing "house".

These are the A-Frame cabins in Hoback that we stayed in.

The famous antlers at Town Square in Jackson

We had a great time in Jackson Hole town square. The kids loved going in the different shops, choosing what they wanted to buy and the adults tried to keep track of all the kids. They all found a unique souveneir to take home and remember Jackson Hole by. This was day 1 after our drive from UT. We ended the day by eating at a great Mexican restaurant---The Merry Piglets. Mohawk Lake in the Uintahs

Brian and I celebrated our 15th anniversary this summer!!! We went on a backpacking trip with NO kids (just our good friends, Bryan and Trena Ganus) and it was perfect except for the tons and tons of mosquitos. It is the most beautiful scenery you will ever see in the high Uintahs.

Perception Park Campground

July 17-19, 2008

We had fun camping with the White family in July. The cousins had fun tubing down the river and catching bugs in the long grass around our campground. The adults tried to relax in between meals and clean up and crafts for the kids. We loved being outdoors and enjoyed some cooler nights.

Red Fish Lake, ID

June 29th-July 2nd

Our summer in 2008 has been busy and fun. Our first trip was to Red Fish lake in Idaho. Curtis had fun trying to catch a fish in the Salmon River and we all had fun playing on the beach and in the water at the lake. We enjoyed spending time with the whole Talbot clan.
